Description:

‘A Quite Impossible Proposal’ by Andy Drummond

Tuesday 10th November 7.30pm

Andy Drummond presents his new book ‘A Quite Impossible Proposal: How Not to Build a Railway, published by Birlinn.  The book tells the story of failed attempts to build railways in the Scottish Highlands, such as the once proposed line from Garve to Aultbea via Poolewe.  The story is one of local enthusiasm, hampered by government and rail company obstructionism.
